I will never forget the first sermon preached after Mickey left FUMC. Kirk was about 4 and acting really bad in "Big" church. I took him out and headed to the bathroom to "wear him out" and he started crying. I said, "Kirk why are you acting so bad today", He said "I just can't be good since Bro Mickey is gone." Ya'll have been missed since you left Covington and we'll miss more now. My prayers are with you and the girls. Sincerely, Debbie Winberry

Dear Marsh, Michelle and Megan. Mickey has brightened so many lives. I used to see him out fishing when Keith and I would be at Wardlow Pocket. He caught more fish than we did. He and I had many good conversations and I expect to have more.

Marsha--we are praying for you and the girls every day and thinking about good times. Mickey was so passionate about the ministry and so good at it.

    We love you,

To the Carpenter family; You are in my thoughts and prayers. I met Mickey during my Dad's, Rev Buddy Russ, last year on earth. And to remember him as he took part in Dad's going home celebration. What a joy to have met one of Dad's special friend and fellow pastor. May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hands. Steve Russ, Dale City VA

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Marsha, Megan, Michelle! Mickey presided over my marriage and baptized both of my children in Covington...he is truly a precious part of my past! Tim said just a few weeks ago how he missed Mickey's booming voice in our services...and his fishing stories!
